  • The 2021 World Chess Championship is taking place in Dubai with coverage on the official FIDE site and chess.com.  It is currently tied at 1.5-1.5 (3 draws). The games start at 4:30 p.m. (PST) so you can wake up and follow live commentary to start
    your day!  I've attached a flyer with more info.  I can also highly recommend the Magnus documentary. It is very entertaining and inspiring for younger players.  It is available to rent on YouTube.  Here is the trailer:

  • Interested in trying out for Davis High Winter sports? Tryout info can be found on the Athletics page of the DSHS website. REMINDER for all students planning to participate in a Davis High Winter Sport. You will need to provide a negative Covid test result within 7 days of the first day of tryouts/practice. This will be a weekly requirement to show your coach at the first practice of each week. 
  • It is officially Fall and the Davis High Snowboard Race Team is getting ready for winter. Dryland conditioning begins in early November. Athletes must be cleared with the Athletics Dept. to be able to participate. If interested, email Coach Bill Williams: bwilliams@djusd.net .
  • Yearbook Class has launched the Yearbook Fundraiser for DVHS. Money raised during this program will be used to help students produce the book.  They would love your support! Please click this link to help support my efforts.
  • Any 9th-12th grade girls interested in trying out for the girls basketball team at Davis High please contact coach Heather Highshoe at hhighshoe@djusd.net. Pre-season workouts are currently underway, and tryouts begin November 1.

  • Calling All Gamers! Do you want to compete on the official DJUSD Raptors eSports Team against some of the toughest schools in the state? The team is currently looking for Super Smash Bros. (Nintendo Switch) and League of Legends (PC) players to join the squad for the upcoming Fall Season.
    • Grades 9-12 are eligible to participate.
    • Tryouts will be held the week of September 20th. Official season begins September 27th.
    • There will be a team informational meeting held Thursday September 16th@ 5:30pm via zoom

  • DJUSD On-Campus Asymptomatic COVID-19 Testing NOW OPEN! REGISTER TODAY! (click here)! If your student registered last year, there is no need to re-register.
         
    Beginning November 16th testing will begin 30 minutes earlier.

  • The Vitruvian is Da Vinci Charter Academy's student-run publication. Student journalists cover news regarding the school and the Davis community at large.
