Dear Da Vinci Students and Parents,
We hope you had a nice weekend. The school year is rapidly coming to a close and DVHS needs to collect textbooks, novels, DVCA-issued Dell laptops and chargers, DVCA or DJUSD-issued Chromebooks and chargers, and district-issued Wi-Fi hotspots. Please see the schedule and procedures below for the DVHS Collection Day on Friday, June 12th. We appreciate your advance attention to the procedures to promote the safety of all students and families.
Schedule
- Sophomores - 10:00 – 11:00 a.m.
- Juniors - 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
- Seniors - 12:00 – 1:00 p.m.
Procedures
Drop off by Car:
- Enter the Valley Oak front parking lot at 1400 E. 8th Street (the lot that runs in front of the Preschool Office that runs parallel to 8th Street). Follow the signage and directions from staff.
- Proceed to the designated drop off point in front of the Valley Oak Marquee.
- Textbooks will need to be in a bag with the student’s name and student ID number clearly marked on the bag.
- Electronics (Dell laptops, Chromebooks, chargers, and hot spots) will need to be in a separate bag with the student’s name and student ID number clearly marked on the bag.
- Place the bag on the passenger seat.
- Once at the drop off point, a staff member will take the bag from the passenger seat.
- Then cars will proceed out of the parking lot as directed.
- The drop off is not a time to discuss missing books, damaged books, etc. Instead, please contact Adela Johnson with a list of materials that are missing or damaged.
- All textbooks are bar coded and registered to individual students. As such, textbooks will be checked into our system after they are collected.
Drop off by Walking/Biking:
- Enter the sidewalk next to the Valley Oak front parking lot at 1400 E. 8th Street (the sidewalk that runs in front of the Preschool Office that runs parallel to 8th Street). Follow the signage and directions from staff.
- Proceed on the sidewalk to the designated drop off point in front of the Valley Oak Marquee. Signage and staff will direct you appropriately.
- Textbooks will need to be in a bag with the student’s name and student ID number clearly marked on the bag.

- We ask that bicyclists and pedestrians remain on the sidewalk at all times. Please enter school grounds using the sidewalk on the west side of the front parking lot (avoiding all cars), and exit using the sidewalk path that leads to the east side of campus.
Laptop and Chromebook Directions:
- Please remove all stickers and grime from laptops. This link will take you to instructions on How to Clean Your Laptop
- Remember to bring your charger to return.
- Check for and remove CDs, DVDs, or SD cards.
Safety Measures:
- All persons are required to wear a mask while on the Da Vinci campus.
- All persons are required to maintain appropriate social distancing while on the Da Vinci campus.
