DVHS Tech Hub Naming Opportunity

Da Vinci High School Tech Hub

Hello all,

Please take a moment to read the over the communication below regarding the launch of the naming process for the Da Vinci Tech Hub.

We are scheduled to break ground on our new Tech Hub building this summer. This 14,707 square foot building will provide tech-rich classroom spaces for innovative learning as well as engaging areas for community gatherings and demonstrations of student work. The Tech Hub and accompanying facilities projects will bring about transformative change to the Da Vinci campus, and will position us for the next iteration of our program. While the building will bear the name Tech Hub, we have the opportunity to attribute a namesake that is befitting of this state-of-the-art project. For example, the Performance Hall at Davis Senior High School is officially titled the Richard Brunelle Performance Hall, named after revered Davis music teacher Richard Brunelle.

The Da Vinci Advisory Board has been tasked with soliciting suggestions from our community and evaluating them in accordance with DJUSD Board Policy 7310 on Naming a Facility. The Da Vinci Advisory Board will then submit a name recommendation to the Superintendent for approval by the Board of Education. If you would like to submit a name for consideration, please email [email protected]. We ask that you provide the following information: the suggested name, any relevant background information, and a rationale for the name. Additionally, the Da Vinci Advisory Board welcomes any person or group to present their potential name at one of our upcoming March 17 or April 21 meetings.

Details and several links about the Tech Hub are provided below to inspire your imagination:

  • Board Policy states that names can be: places and features; historic sites; descriptive names; names of people who have provided notable service to the school or district who have retired or left the service of the district; or names of individuals, families or organizations that contribute land or resources towards the building.
