As the sun rises on a new academic year, I am thrilled and honored to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to each and every one of you. It is with a heart full of optimism and excitement that I take on the role of Principal of Da Vinci Charter Academy, a place renowned for its commitment to academic excellence, personal growth, and the fostering of a nurturing environment for all. I am eager to work collaboratively with our exceptional staff, dedicated parents, and most importantly, our incredible students. Together, we will embark on an unforgettable journey of learning, discovery, and growth, striving to achieve new heights and surpass our own expectations. The school year will be nothing short of extraordinary, and I cannot wait to witness the brilliance and achievements that will unfold in the days ahead.

We wanted to share some important upcoming events and dates with you. So please mark your calendars, so that we hit the ground running into the 2023-2024 school year.

DVHS Registration & Schedule Pick-Up Registration is distinct from enrollment. Registration is a required event for all students to gather and disseminate important information for the year. Here are the details:

When?
  • Friday August 18 2023, 08:00 a.m. - 12:45 p.m.
    • 12th graders 08:00 a.m. - 09:05 a.m.
    • 11th graders 9:15 a.m. - 10:15 a.m.
    • 10th graders 10:25 a.m. - 11:25 a.m.
    • 9th graders 11:35 a.m. - 12:35 p.m.
    • 9th graders and any students new to Da Vinci will take part in tours led by our Leadership class. These tours will take place throughout the 9th grade registration time period.
    • If the assigned grade level time frame does not work for you, drop by anytime Monday, August 21 from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
    • If there are special circumstances preventing you from attending any of these times you may contact our office at 530.757.7154.
Where?
  • Da Vinci High School Campus - Pamela Mari Tech Hub
Who?
  • All students need to be present to complete registration and pick up their schedule. Be sure your parents/guardians have signed all required forms in advance. Parents and guardians are welcome to attend.
What do we need before we arrive? What completed documents should I bring to registration? Other Need To Knows:
  • If your student requires a change in their schedule, the student should complete the form HERE. Due to time constraints, not all adjustments may not be made during registration. Thank you for understanding! All schedule changes must be completed by Friday, September 1st.
  • DVCA Boosters will have representatives on-site to register new families and take membership forms and donations. These organizations are critical to our success - please join!
  • The Yearbook editors will be on-site to help you with senior ads, online ordering of the book, and show you how you can contribute to the yearbook using your smartphone. You can order your book at the lowest price of the year! *Warning* - last year the books sold out in the first semester! We recommend you be ready to purchase your book and accessories early in the year and this day is the best day to make it happen. We will have informational flyers, as well as laptops available to help with your ordering.
  • The school nurse will be present to answer questions and to review student records.
  • Our internship coordinator will be on-hand to introduce herself, answer questions, and meet with those who are signed up for an internship.
  • Overdue library books will be accepted at registration.
  • Laptops will not be distributed to students who have not signed the DVCA Tech Contract Addendum
Dino Pack Orientation on Monday, August 21 (9:30 - 2:30)

All NEW 9th and NEW 10th-12th graders are strongly encouraged to attend a fun and informative orientation session in which they will:
  • get to know other new students
  • get familiar with Da Vinci's culture and expectations
  • play a few too many games
  • tour the campus, including walking their schedules
* Pizza and some snacks will be provided. Students are encouraged to bring a water bottle.

First day of School Tuesday, August 22

 The first day of school is Tuesday, August 22 starting at 8:30 a.m. and it will follow the regular 7 period Bell Schedule which can be viewed at: Bell Schedule - Da Vinci High School


Second Day of School Alternate Schedule

As we have done over the past several years, the DVHS staff will facilitate an orientation day for all students on Wednesday, August 23. All students will begin the day at 8:30 a.m. and conclude the school day at 3:30 p.m. Students will be given their group and starting location during the first day of school. Students will be assigned to grade-level groupings where will work on the following:
  • Book Checkout
  • Planner Distribution
  • Tech Support (check out school laptop and cameras)
  • School Pictures and School ID Cards
  • Grade-level activities
  • Schoolwide expectations
  • Orientation to schoolwide learning outcomes
